This series of paintings reflects a humble and spiritual approach to marking art. The works present a central focal element that is an entry point to experience the piece. In most cases there is an emphasis on the subtle blending of color and surface. This is to suggest a sense of calm strength and a meditative quality that allows the viewer to find a connection. The works are primarily painted with oils, oil pastels, cold wax medium and marble dust. The paintings evolve with application of multiple layers to build up rich surfaces that display a record of time and place.
